On the Vikings QB situation

The Vikings should make Matt Cassel an offer such that he has to be significantly overpaid to go elsewhere.

Vikings owner Zygi Wilf has demonstrated a willingness to spend money on good players (i.e. umpty millions for a guard?). Wilf hasn't yet done anything stupid, but this off-season is decision time and his 1st real chance, since his initial moves after acquiring the Vikes, to do something significant, stupid or prescient.

Vikings head coach Brad Childress declared Tavaris Jackson the Vikes "QB of the future" back in September when he benched him. Who knows if Childress really believes that, or only said it because Jackson is the QB he has and everyone knows Gus Frerotte ain't your QB of the future. If he insists that Jackson is his man, will Wilf back him off of it (either by firing or overruling)?. The fact is, the Vikes have a good defense and those rarely last long enough to develop a quarterback.

Expect the Vikes to go after Michael Vick;-) The Cowboys and Raiders to both outbid the Vikes. and the Vikes to be left with .... Tavaris Jackson:-(
