Reporters Notebook: 01/10/09 - "My Real Name is Scot"

An old adage says that we learn something about our friends every day.
Take my dear friend, Keri Mae Walkowiak Shee, for example.
During a New Years Eve party, Keri and I partnered in a team event.
We were kicking butt, when Keri suddenly turned to me with a concerned look on her face.
“Is your real name Michael?” she asked.
I looked at her. After several seconds, she was still expressionless.
Then I realized that she was serious.
So I calmed her nerves.
“No, Keri,” I replied. “My real name is Scot.”
You know, the name you’ve been calling me for nine years.
She shook her head, satisfied.
“That’s what I thought,” Keri said.
I’m glad I could clarify the confusion.
