I'm surprised USC is ranked so low... don't get me wrong, I hate USC more than anybody, but some ESPN writers are still predicting that USC will make a BCS bowl and Penn State will not.

USC is hurt by 2 things right now. 1 is their loss to 4 - 3 Oregon State. The other is that they only have 5 games played where others have 6 and 7 games played. Unfortunately, they will climb up the Mentzer Rankings as they continue to win.
