The original story in the York Daily Record stated that the judge was a member of the group of beach goers that confronted Ponson with accusations of recklessly driving his personal watercraft.
This whole thing smells of conspiracy to me. I think Flanagan and Beattie planted the judge in this group. I believe the upside for Flanagan and Beattie was Ponson spending 8 days in Aruban jail living on bread and water might get Ponson's weight down for Spring Training.
