REPORTERS NOTEBOOK: Gettysburg Times (11/08/08) - "Election Day"

It was comical standing in what seemed like a three mile line with my grandfather Tuesday morning in downtown Aspers to cast my vote on Election Day.
Every other time Pap and I go to the Aspers Fire Hall to vote, it takes four minutes, tops.
We were in line for 45 minutes Thursday. And that was before we even got inside the building.
The backlog, in my opinion, was primarily the result of first time voters — or people who cast ballots strictly when the White House is available and then disappear for four years.
Anyway, Election Day should run like the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The roadway has an E-Z pass lane for frequent motorists.
How about an easy pass lane on Election Day for frequent voters? We could bypass the 45 minute line and all the people who don’t have any idea what they’re doing.
And still make it to the Elkhorn Inn in Bendersville before they quit serving breakfast.
Just an idea.

  2. Maybe he was in line for something else for 45 minutes on Thursday and he just mixed that in with his voting story?

  4. Maybe you should give yourself a break and write articles about toys instead of elections. Here's a great link to get you started thinking -- http://www.
