On the Orioles

O's newly acquired veteran catcher Greg Zaun reports that Koji Uehara has "above-average Major League stuff".

I hope he really means "as compared to Major League pitchers", and not "as compared to Oriole pitchers".

  1. that "above-average" stuff was good enough to play in like...eight...All Star games in Japan.

Koji Uehara would be a good starter for the backend of the rotation, on virtually any other squad in baseball. Naturally, on the Orioles, the unproven pitcher is pencilled in as the second starter. Sad.

Thank you Peter Angelos. Thank you.
